Item Description
28x41” poster featuring art by Bill Bailey showing adult hippopotamus with baby hippo submerged in water. c. 1945. Poster has “The Greatest Show On Earth” globe image at lower left. Attached 10.25x28” date tag at bottom margin with beginning date of Sep. 8 and rare location billing for Los Angeles, CA. Date tag has additional ink stamp at right and has black marker on reverse which slightly bleeds through to front. Poster has been folded and has some age spotting on margins. Margins also have a few .25-.5” tears. A larger, 1” tear has tape repair on reverse. Fine.
