Item Description
Large and extremely impressive highest quality painted and glazed heavy solid ceramic with overall size of 7x14x16” tall. Designed like the classic jigsawed wood pull toys of yesteryear. Free wheeling with attached thick rope pull cord that has ceramic knob on end. Bucky figure itself is nearly .5” thick. Same image appears on each side. Bucky Bug first appeared in the initial Silly Symphonies comic strip of 1932 where he was the first Disney character to debut in comics as opposed to film. However, he would appear on film later that same year with the release of Bugs In Love Silly Symphony short. He was initially drawn by Earl Duvall and later drawn by Al Taliaferro when he appeared in Walt Disney’s Comics And Stories. This unique item was offered through the special auction event at the 1993 Official Disneyana Convention where it sold in excess of $5,000. Underside of platform base has text including Disney copyright, “1 of 1” plus facsimile signatures of Jesse and Brenda White. A stunning creation further enhanced by the fact that it is one of a kind. Mint.
