Item Description
1.25” with backpaper by Offset Gravure Corp. Roosevelt died in 1919 and in October of that year scout leader Dan Beard led a group of scouts to his gravesite in October. This became an annual event and buttons were issued for some of these years. Scouts within a radius of 50 miles would gather and file past the grave in conjunction with a ceremony and speeches. This button is possibly the last issued in the annual series due to the start of WWII. Exc. illustration of TR waving his hat with text “22nd Roosevelt Pilgrimage/Oct. 18, 1941.” Comes with Hake’s COA. Essentially Mint.
