Item Description
2” with all-celluloid covering except for the underside glass mirror which includes a beveled edge. The celluloid rim of this piece holds 48 straight pins and includes tiny text with Whitehead & Hoag copyright and patent date of 1906. On this side edge there is a single 1/8” hairline crack in the celluloid beneath one pin but it causes no problem. Top of the piece is bright and clean with just a hair of black color off the word “Co.” Item shows the company trademark of a knight on rearing horse and reads “Malt-Diastase Co./79 Wall Street, New York.” The product was an enzyme that digests carbohydrate rich foods such as grains and sugars.
