Item Description
The purple and pink button from the Marshall Levin Collection has his date notation on the reverse “1980,” this was 2 years following the assassination of Harvey Milk. Milk is pictured on the second item, a 2x3” celluloid with a rectangular magnet on the metal reverse. Levin’s note on this one reads simply “Milk.” This was likely a souvenir sold during the 1980 parade. Button has 2 pinpoint cello indents over the letter “R” of “PARADE” and a tiny pinpoint prick through the celluloid below the second letter “A.” The rest of the button is bright and clean and the magnet is N. Mint displaying Mint. Sean Penn was awarded an Oscar for Best Performance as Harvey Milk in the 2008 movie “Milk.”
