Item Description
See previous lot #356 for size, construction and condition details. One photo in one Stanhope matches what we show, the other photos we show are approximations for illustrative purposes. Beneath each photo is the person’s full name and “The Women’s Social And Political Union.” The 6 in this lot are: “Mary Clarke” (close-up photo facing slightly left); “The ‘General’ Flora Drummond” (photo shows her from waist up wearing very wide sash across her body easily readable as “Votes For Women”); “Anne Kenney” (waist up photo of her wearing a shawl over her head and shoulders with one hand holding it closed at the neck); “Christabel Pankhurst” (shows her in white blouse wearing large brimmed white hat accented by flowers and a ribbon tie beneath her neck); “Emmeline Pankhurst” (photo is identical to what we show but more of a close-up from elbows up); “Sylvia Pankhurst” (very close-up photo of her looking directly at the camera and wearing spherically-shaped hat). Rare.
