2-1/8” reads “Barack/Obama/State Senator/13th District.” Button has union bug with number “461” at bottom edge standing for the maker Forest Printing of Forest Park, IL. This button was made in the fall of 1995 for the Democratic primary which Obama won in early 1996 succeeding state Senator Alice Palmer to represent the 13th District covering Chicago South Side neighborhoods. Button is glossy and Exc. and displays Mint. Sales over $3,500 have occurred.
