Item Description
7/8” has dark blue text above colorful poppy which also features green leaves all surrounding the Hoover photo. The design is perfectly centered and the colors are intense with a highly glossed surface. Complete with backpaper by A.G. Trimble of Pittsburgh with just a single pinpoint paper nick in the blank area. This button was one of Trimble’s very first campaign buttons and the firm later went on to originate the classic “I Like Ike” slogan in 1952. The “Hoo But Hoover” is among the rarest and most desirable Hoover buttons and has a revised price value of $2300 in the Hake 2004 edition. An example in similar condition we sold a year ago realized over $2500. Consignor has set a conservative opening bid. Essentially Mint.
