3.5x5.5”. Photographic image of fight with Jack Johnson on his back shielding his face with his gloves. Willard stands watching the referee count. Text in Spanish at bottom translates to “No One Overcomes The Fixed Prices Of ‘Truth’ - The Fatal Fall, April 5, 1915.” Questions were raised as to whether Johnson took a fall to stay out of prison. Hand-written note on back translates to “This Fight Was Carried Out In The Park East Of Marianao (Cuba) April 5, 1915.” General aging to front and back. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
