Art depicts Captain America leaping from explosion caused by his archnemesis The Red Skull who produces energy blast from his hand. Captain America’s iconic shield has broken loose from its strap and falls from his grasp. Art is by comic legend George Tuska, noted for his superhero comic book work during the Golden Age of comics and his later work in crime fiction, particularly “Crime Does Not Pay.” Tuska would later go on to re-emerge in the Silver Age, become the artist associated with “Iron Man” for a generation.
