Item Description
12x14” image area. 17.5x20” overall. Matted and captioned by the original collector who presented this as part of a traveling editorial cartoon exhibition. Pen and ink on artboard. Cartoon is in reference to LBJ sending astronauts White and McDivitt on a good will visit to France after their successful June, 1965 space walk. A befuddled DeGaulle holds an “Anti U.S.” tennis racquet as he watches LBJ knock the space capsule across the net. William Sandeson from the Ft. Wayne News Centennial. Interesting and Exc.
