Item Description
9.75x12.5” program has stiff embossed paper die-cut cover with window revealing contortionist dancer. Cover opens to reveal dancer posed in front of illustration of large ape, ala King Kong, a full 3 years before the film’s release. Program contains 32 bw pages with many women shown topless and in elaborate costumes. Last page has bw ad featuring programs for previous Folies Bergere including Josephine Baker 1926-1927 program. Scattered handling wear with pinch creases to spine and all-over age spotting to cover. Fine overall. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
