Item Description
6.5” long with 3” blade. Likely 1899. Both men are depicted in military uniform with names below. Botha was the Commander in Chief of the Transvaal Boers fighting the British in the Second Boer War in 1899. He later became the first Prime Minister in the Union of South Africa – the forerunner of the modern South African state. He is likely depicted with Roosevelt as Botha fought for the freedom of South Africa from the British Empire as Roosevelt fought for the freedom of Cuba against the Spaniards. The razor blade shows crossed US flags between the two leaders. Lt. wear to both sides of the images and names. Blade is marked “613/Lion Razor Works Germany.” Overall razor shows wear/age. Displays Fine.
