Item Description
5x15x6.5” deep R.W. Kerr Plastic Co. full case shipping carton containing a dozen 4-7/8” tall statues of Captain Marvel Junior. Statues are made of an unknown blend of resin-like materials. Fawcett premium made by Kerr in 1946. Kerr also made line of Marvel Family plastic statuettes as well as Captain Marvel (see item #2046) and Mary Marvel statues in the same manner as the Captain Marvel Junior statues offered here. Incised base reads “Capt. Marvel Jr.” Kerr base decals on undersides range in completion from 85-95%, a few lower and a few higher. All remain structurally sound and bright with fresh appearances, however one has noticeable stress line across chest, 5 others have very faint stress lines on chest/torsos. Eleven have 1 or 2 exceedingly minor stress lines, typically .25” or less on boots. One remains N. Mint as made though with two 1/8” spots of flesh-colored paint. All figures with exception of one with heavy chest stress line, retain a N. Mint appearance from fronts with noted defects, figure with chest defect still displays Exc. Carton is marked “From R.W. Kerr Plastic Company Molders And Fabricators – Hastings, Nebr.” This has been written over in black marker “Captain” with additional marker notation on top flap. Other side has unobstructed Kerr information. Box has lt. wear/aging but remains VF. While carton is rather non-descript in appearance, this is only the second we’ve offered in our 43 years. We have sold individual Captain Marvel Jr. figures in the past for $750 to as much as $1,000. The ultimate item for the serious Marvel Family completist.
