Item Description
9” tall tin litho and hard plastic toy comes in original box. Box is variety with “Apollo” text on lid. c. 1960s by Horikowa of Japan. Box lid shows moderate wear with .75” tear at corner and creasing to main panel. VG+. Toy has detailed exterior including “United States – NASA” text and American flag. Toy works and features a number of actions – travels around with flashing light, stopping every so often as a pair of doors open and center body of cap still spins. One open door reveals circuitry with plastic cover that blinks while other door reveals hard plastic astronaut figure seated next to console with radar screen that lights up. Tin body has some scattered minute pinpoint paint nicks/scratches. Appearance remains N. Mint. Great design and action. Scarcer box variety.
