Item Description
16.5x20.25” frame contains 8.75x12.75” art that has been professionally framed and triple-matted. Art was done on thin artboard, mostly in black marker and watercolors. Art is by contemporary Disney Legend Don Rosa and depicts a murderous-looking Donald Duck with hatchet and raised hand standing over the obviously deceased (or very close to it) body of his insufferable lucky cousin Gladstone Gander. While colored with eerie green lighting on Donald’s face and body, this is only the work of Rosa’s imagination, the premise of a murderous Donald Duck thankfully never coming to pass. Rosa created 4 specialty pieces done in the style of the classic EC Comics comic books using Disney Duck characters. Fantasy art answers the question “What If EC Comics Had The Disney License Instead Of Dell?” Rosa has signed his name in art itself and then again in black ink along bottom right side margin. Art is set up like EC Comics of old with “Walt Disney’s Comic And Suspenstories” done in matching font as seen on Disney and EC Comics. “EC” logo appears at top left, right and part of word block that reads “Jolting Tales Of Tension In The EC Tradition!” Great presentation piece, proposing an eerie “What If?” subject matter. N. Mint display as framed. Unique.
