13x19x2” deep boxed set contains complete and unused set as “Advertised In LIFE” ©Astranaut, Inc. c. 1950s. Kit’s purpose is to teach the harmonica, and two are included. A 4” long “Herb Shriner Hoosier Boy” Hohner harmonica is included along with second, boxed 4” long Hohner Herb Shriner Hoosier Boy harmonica. Unboxed version is silver luster with TV cartoon image of Shriner and text with split rail fence. Exc. Boxed version is gold metal luster with red and blue paint accents to same design. Exc. Hinged lid box has bw photo portrait of Shriner in television set on lid. Box is Exc. Set comes with two 6” dia. 78-rpm instructional records. N. Mint. 1-3/8” dia. tin litho button for “Herb Shriner Harmonica Club Member” has portrait image of Shriner. N. Mint. 2.5x3.75” membership card for Herb Shriner Harmonica Club has cartoon image of Shriner and harmonica image at lower left. Blank and Exc. 5x6-3/8” harmonica playing instructional booklet has full color illustrations of Shriner throughout teaching musical scales on the harmonica. Set also includes 2x5.5” vinyl “Herb Shriner” harmonica holster that fit on belt and could carry harmonica. Comes with 1-1/8x4” die-cut strip of paper in shape of harmonica with cartoon image of Shriner and “Send This Back For Free Bonus!” text. Strip opens to reveal membership form for Shriner’s Harmonica Club, if strip were sent in, sender would receive autographed 8x10” photo and Harmonica Club publication. Unused and Exc. Box shows wear at edges/corners with .5” streak of bare cardboard showing at bottom left. Box remains free of splits and retains its shape. Fine+. Great design and scarce, especially in this unused condition. Old store stock.
