Item Description
14" dia. by 8.5" tall overall. Late 1800s. Molded pewter cover attached to wood base. Cast iron tree holder 4.5" high sits atop tapered brass pin mounted to windup mechanism in base. Key wind mechanism (replaced key) drives the music box and revolving shaft actions. Two levers appear on side to activate music and turning action separately. Works. Cast iron tree holder has ornate decorations cast in including faces. Top of base has 1" tall embossed "Trademark/Germany" w/image of Santa holding Christmas tree w/boy and girl at each side. Wood base has crack, 4" split on metal top, scattered small dents, wear at center post. Despite condition issues, remains totally functional for its original purpose. Plays a variety of Christmas songs. A delightful Christmas item. Fine.
