Item Description
18x18x1" deep box contains nearly complete set by Marks Bros. Co. c. 1934. Lid features great large illustration of Mickey and Minnie using this set with smaller illustration at lower left corner of young boy and girl painting/drawing pictures of Mickey. Box has moderate scattered edge wear/scattered aging. Still remains tight and Fine. Set is missing just the generic crayons. Attached to insert is the metal pantograph arm used in conjunction with picture cards to reproduce the images in tracing style. Comes with set of four 4x6.25" cardboard pictures to be used for this purpose. Picture titles are "The Mickey Mouse Express, Mickey Mouse The Entertainer, Mickey Mouse The Farmer, Mickey Mouse Ski Jumping." The cards were designed to be tacked to top center of box insert and all cards have tack holes at corners. Directly below this is the art tablet with cover sheet featuring the "Mickey Mouse Express" image. Several sheets used, several sheets unused. Cover sheet has scattered margin wear with a few small tears. Has five unused paint tablets at top left. Contents overall Fine. A superbly designed set and rarely found in this near complete state. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
