Item Description
Unlicensed and probably a vending machine issue, we've seen just a couple of these and dated them as c. 1950. While of thin metal, the metal was brass and had slight weight. The finish was a darker shade of brass. This example has same raised image resembling the Lone Ranger with bandanna flying to the right. A mask is not particularly evident on the ring but when it is stamped into soft material, resulting image does give the appearance of eyes and nose as if covered by a mask. Compared to previous examples, this ring has almost no weight. It seems to be tin or maybe aluminum with bright gold flashing. The style is close to a few rings we've seen made this way from the 1960s. Top of each band has a tiny ripple line as made. It was never expanded to fit a finger. Rare, unusual and essentially Mint.
