Item Description
17.75x33" frame contains double-matted MGM production pan set-up for 1937 cartoon "Little Buck Cheeser" with star of the same name. Little Cheeser loved cheese and wanted to go to the moon to see if it was really made of cheese. Inspired by his hero Buck Rogers, he constructed a rocketship and this cel shows Little Cheeser, rocketship full of mice and fully-painted pan bkg. Original mat is inscribed "To Jack Bergen - An' All It Takes To Make This Thing Go Is A Little Money! Hugh Harmon - Rudy Ising." Harmon was the producer of this cartoon and Rudolf Ising was the director. Harmon and Ising worked with Walt Disney on Oswald the Rabbit cartoons, later leaving to help found Looney Tunes. The pair later left to found the MGM Cartoon Studio. Aging to original mat and 1.5" tear to bottom by last letter of "Bergen." This is not all that noticeable and the piece still displays Exc. This cartoon marked Little Cheeser's last appearance. Great scene.
