Item Description
Lot of two from 1943. The four-page full color comic on newsprint is 7.5x10.25" and was issued as a movie theater giveaway. Promotes the Disney film that showed how long-range air power could cause the defeat of the axis and Japan during WWII. Back cover has large blank area for theater imprint, however, this example is unused and most likely was a sample included with the film's pressbook. Back cover also features one panel with classic image of an eagle representing American attacking an octopus representing Japan. Comic lightly tanned, front cover has minor .25" tear on both top and bottom margins. Clean, Fine and a rare promo comic. The print is 16x17" on glossy paper and features a much more detailed depiction of the eagle and octopus than the one depicted in the single panel scene of the comic. No Disney markings but bottom margin text reads "Victory Through Air Power, Peace Through Air Power, Lockheed Aircraft Corp./Vega Aircraft Corp." Moderate tan age spotting to bottom margin but not affecting the art area. Light handling wear as rolled. Fine.
