Item Description
14x22" glossy cardboard poster for the theatrical production at New York City Center that ran from April 14 to May 2, 1976. Top notes "Only U.S. Appearance." Center features one of their trademark bizarre illustrations of a man's head attached to pair of large feet depicted w/word balloon shouting "Monte Python Live! At The City Center." Poster has large bold black felt tip pen signatures of all eight cast members which are Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Giliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Carol Cleveland, Neil Innes. Acquired by a New York City stage hand who worked at the show and signatures were obtained in person. Cardboard has numerous creases, many just show in reflected light. Heaviest creasing appears at 4x4" area right of center around the word "Center." Cardboard has three margin tears, .25" to 1" long. The only signature visibly affected by creases is that of Terry Jones. Despite the noted defects, appearance is still bright and clean, could be improved by framing. VG. A rare poster for short run, single USA city presentation and much rarer than a signed photo. Comes w/Hake's COA.
