Item Description
9.25x12”. Oversized matte finish photo from the late 1920s of Mix in full western gear seated on Tony. Boldly signed in black ink “To Freddie Best Wishes Tom Mix.” Mix presented this photo to veteran circus operator and his personal business representative Fred J. Warrell. The photo has minor professional restoration to a few small tears and has been linen-backed. Photo displays N. Mint with exceptionally large and clear inscription. Signed photos showing Tom with Tony are rarities. The photo comes with Hake’s COA as well as a letter from the Ken Maynard archive, the original purchaser of western items from the Warrell estate giving details of the photo’s provenance. A classic example in a rare oversized format.
