Item Description
This 2-3/8" tall brass badge was offered in 1900 by the publication "Tip Top Weekly" published by Street & Smith available for 20¢ or a dime and two coupons from the publication. The example here is only our third seen complete with top segment reading "Tip-Top League." Lower segment pictures and reads "True As Steel Frank Merriwell." Small dark mark at right of top hanger and small dark mark above "L" of "STEEL." About 95% bright luster. Made by Whitehead & Hoag. Among the first 3 character inspired badges issued. Rare and VF.
