Item Description
2" diameter medal of thick and heavy white metal listed as Sullivan USG-1868-3. Designed by W. H. Key with high relief portrait on front while reverse has wreath surrounding text "Inaugurated President Of The United States March 4, 1869." While the silver luster is N. Mint, there are three small flaws on the obverse field. At upper right is a 1/16" shallow indentation. Along the right profile eyes and nose is very slight .25” hairline scratch barely showing. At lower left is a .5" hairline scratch which also makes a tiny nick in the raised rim edge. The defects are quite small and overall condition of the piece far exceeds most examples. Mirror-like luster.
