Item Description
15/16" with rim hole as issued largely matching DeWitt-Sullivan 1860-91 except the inner circle enclosing the ferrotype images has tiny accent lines. Both portraits are exceptionally clear and with near perfect emulsion surfaces. Rim luster is brilliant on both sides although more with a brass tone on the Lincoln side and a bit more coppery tone on the Hamlin side. The Lincoln portrait is variety #1 although here as a more close-up, larger image than often seen. An outstanding example formerly in the Joe Brown collection. See Lincoln 1909 centennial era buttons #747-751.
