Item Description
5.75x8.5" with textured stiff paper covers and 8 glossy paper pages with text printed in green. Cover art, attributed to Ward Kimball, has Mickey Mouse in golf attire. Art is recognized to be the first time Mickey was shown with circles around his pupils, as Mickey would be drawn in subsequent appearances. Event was held at the Lake Norconian Hotel in Norco, California on June 4, 1938. Pages list various events along with that event organizer's name including "Admin./Riley Thomson, Baseball Game Old Timers Vs. Studio Team/Mickey Batchelder, Touch Football/Jack Kinney, Rowing Race (see trophy won at this event item #1590), Gadget Band/Ward Kimball, Award/Ted Sears." Booklet is complete with perforated "Dinner/Luncheon" coupons which were missing in the few programs we've seen. Staple rust with large but light areas of moisture staining to contents. Cover shows aging with some pink discoloration. Overall VG but cover still displays nicely and Mickey image itself is Exc. Extremely limited distribution and first we've seen complete with meal coupons. Rare. From the estate of background artist Douglas "Bud" Rickert.
